Surprisingly, it wasn't that bad. My mom is becoming quite the internet user, so she managed to get a tasty recipe for a pasta dish. She also cooked a ham thing to make it more Christmas-y but no one ate it. We all had pozole instead . A whole bunch of people came over and hogged my wireless connection. Why the fuck would you bring a laptop to a Christmas dinner? I felt uncomfortable giving away my password for some reason. We didn't have that many gifts to exchange. I got a Tutsi Bota from my cousin in México. It's this boot-shaped thing that's full of Tootsie Pops. There's also a few Tootise Rolls. I've only had it for a few hours and I'm almost through with it. I didn't go to sleep until around 8:00am today because I had a pretty interesting card game going on with my uncles. They got too drunk to drive home so they stayed in our living room. They didn't complain; the HBO softcore porn kept them happy. They said I should stay and watch but that'd be a downgrade from the variety available on a high-speed internet connection.

I finally got around to organizing a bunch of my music (over 50GB) so I can sync it with my iPod. I hate iTunes so I had to look for an alternative. I don't like Winamp that much and Songbird would not recognize the device. So I had to go with MediaMonkey. It works pretty well, but I don't like the interface or how it messes up the tags. I wish more of my Windows apps had an awesome open source alternative so I can use Ubuntu as my main OS. Amarok handles iPods like nothing. I'm going to get started reading The Invisible Man. We have to do a report thing for AP English and it's due when we return from break. I hate being forced to read books.

It saddens me to hear about Steve Jobs’ decision to transfer the whole keynote thing to senior vice president Phil Schiller. I don't even know who that guy is. I'm not alone. The Fortune website had to put together a small profile for each of the excecutives so us regular folk can get to know 'em. If someone is going to replace Steve, they've got a huge challenge. I hear he's really good.

I've been too busy to update. The sad thing is, it's not the type of busy that you'll consider me actually doing things, but the type of busy where I'm not doing anything. Make sense? I've been hit with a severe case of senioritis. I guess I'm doing good because the school sent out bad grades in the mail and I didn't get any. So mine are good?

I went to an amazing AC/DC concert on December 8th at the Great Western Forum here in Los Angeles. It was simply an awesome night. They played the crowd favorites - TNT, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, Back in Black, etc - along with four tracks from their new album, which also turned out to be good. With Highway to Hell as a closing song, no one wanted the night to end.

I might bitch out of the college thing. I don't think it's for me. Watching The O.C makes me want it, though.

There's also a girl in my life now. And I couldn't be happier.

Haven't had the time to update. I got mad during the summer because I would have nothing to do during my free time and now I get mad because I have way too much to do. Advanced Placement classes are not that bad yet. I think Government is my favorite so far. I dropped my "math analysis" class so I could take biology. And biology is really easy so far. Did I just start a sentence with "and"? Yes, I did.

I was tripping balls earlier because I had not taken my SAT and SAT II tests. I didn't even know I was supposed to. I hate how they don't ever tell you anything about getting ready for college until you're a fucking senior. Well, nowadays they have this program where they start preparing you since middle school - making sure you take your required classes and what not. I wish I had that sort of help back then. Well, it turns out I don't have to take those tests if I'm going to go to a community college and then transfer. I thought about it and that seems like a cheaper and easier way to achieve the same thing, so that'll be my route.

I think we're getting the band together again. Bassist isn't going to play for sure, lead guitar is really looking forward to it and drummer is indifferent. As for me, I just wish I had more time to play.

On a side note, I'm really pissed about Ubuntu having to ship Firefox with a EULA. It's a slap in the face for the open source community. Even if it's technically not really an EULA, the mere fact that they have to make you agree to one is discomforting. I hope they get that fixed, or else I might not be upgrading to Intrepid Ibex.

Nah, I probably will anyway.

I haven't tested how it compares with other features (security, etc) but we'll soon find out. Firefox's advantage here is the 5,000+ add-ons that are available for it. It's going to take people some time to want to start developing for Google, and once they do that's when the real competition will begin. It just makes me sad how it took some people quite a bit of convincing to try out Firefox. And all the momentum (and market share) they've gained might be lost to Chrome.
