We're starting the new year off right with the release of a fantastic new sculpt of one of our character classes. The
Saviors are undaunted heroes, single minded and suicidally reckless in their quest to make a change in mankind's horrible existence. This meteoric existence ensures their lifespan will be short but bright.

Both the fantastic concept art by Yasmine Putri and sculpt by Sylvain Quirion really capture the foolhardy optimism and folk hero aspirations of the Savior. We hope you like it. Please check out the picture of the mini and concept art below:

Recently we held a very successful Kingdom Death fundraiser so just wanted to report the results. We're constantly trying to move this project forward with our meager means and limitless determination. So when we were lucky enough to receive a donation of White Speaker #1 we decided to hold a fundraising auction. The results were astounding and very humbling. We are very lucky to have such amazing supporters!

We will use the proceeds of the fundraiser to pay our amazing talent for all their hard work and dedication.

We look forward to continuing our hard work creating more fantastic miniatures for Kingdom Death range. We are ever grateful for our fans and customers and we plan to keep delivering!

Welcome and thank you for checking us out! Here is where all official info, sneak peaks, artwork, mini's and news related to the kingdom death board game and miniature line will be posted. This is a huge passion driven project for me personally, and a celebration of all classic games where lonely heroes are dying miserable deaths deep in the dark.

A little about the Game World

Kingdom Death is a horror fantasy world. Imagine a place populated marginally by humans and predominantly by terrible and incomprehensible beasties. The Kingdom Death fantasy has no demi-races; no elves, no dwarves, no goblins, no orcs, also NO zombies, (not quite a demi-race... but common enough! ). We really wanted to push the boundaries of bleak unforgiving existence so certain things... just didn't make the cut. Instead we wanted to explore the entangled questions facing a world where humans are a losing minority. Here are some I asked myself!

In a world teeming with ravening monsters will some turn to cultivate humans like livestock? Will they protect their herd? Would they fight off other monsters to ensure a healthy harvest for themselves?

How can insignificant bands of humans establish lasting empires when their histories are constantly erased and begin anew? What sort of sacrifices would they make to preserve little scraps of knowledge from one calamitous generation to the next?

Finally, how does a survivor of this world stay sane as the world around him grows dark?

Sanity!!

Nestled next to a player's hit points is a second score, their sanity points. The sanity stat is central and unique mechanic for Kingdom Death, as casters will spend their sanity it to dip into the "other" for magical energy and certain abilities will only be useable when the mind is near its breaking point. As a group players will need to properly manage their sanity to be effective enough to live without losing it.

As time marches on we will post more about the board game and what can be expected.

A little about the Miniature Line

When this project started I never imagined I would be working with some of the best miniature sculptors in the world to push the boundaries of quality and detail in resin miniatures.  So much of this made possible by someone who's name I will not mention in case they do not want me to! But you know who you are. THANK YOU!

With so much time / energy being put into every other part of this project, it only made sense to bring these maniacal standards into the miniature department too. Many of the miniatures in the line are impossible to cast in anything but premium quality resin by a pair of very skilled hands. I will be sure to discuss later the way our insanely detailed miniatures with complex undercuts and dynamic poses have frustrated our casters and made pewter and plastic casting impossible.

Currently the plan is to offer a limited run cast of each miniature as they are completed for excited hobbyists and collectors. Early adopters will be well rewarded along with their purchases, we hope to offer gorgeous prints of our concept art or special edition bases and weapons with the initial sets to keep things interesting.

Ultimately this will all lead up to the full Kingdom Death board game release sometime in 2010. My suggestion is: if you like it, grab it. I'm not sure how many individual runs of our miniatures we can offer once the Kingdom Death box is released.

Kingdom Death is a very special, passion fueled project. I can't thank everyone that is involved in making it real,  enough. So make sure to keep your eyes peeled and don't miss a chance to grab a mini as it passes by!
