Hallo gaming industry. Dead Space disappointing. Please make this instead:
adadochka (10:33:17 AM): you know what I want for survival space horror? Something that feels like a classic Event Horizen/Sunshine scenario you play 1 character, and over the course of the story you have to work in teams of 2 with 1 other member of your crew. Complete missions, get to know your crewmates, storyline unfolds. Then, creeping horror, paranoia, and multiple endings depending on if you save the whole crew, save yourself, or save x favorite crewmate.
EnjieXP (10:35:02 AM): it should have The Thing factor where you can't trust anyone, but need to work together
adadochka (10:35:14 AM): yes! Say by the midpoint of the game players should have completed a few non-horror (but not boring - this is space after all) missions with var. crewmates so that by the time the paranoia happens, they already have crewmates they hate and crewmates they like - which won't necessaily match with who is infected/crazy/etc
adadochka (10:43:35 AM): I guess what I want from a survival horror is something that plays like a very scaled-back KOTOR or Mass Effect, but with more scripted events, with silent hill atmospherics, in space. This survival horror alone in a hostile evironment thing is played out. I want dread and paranoia and engaging storyline and characters on top of really good fps controls.
EnjieXP (10:44:55 AM): yeah, it's very difficult to scare me if I don't care about the faceless boob onscreen or the safety of any supporting characters. Imagine having to protect/betrayed by space balthier. It would break my heart. Instead it's always some jackass on vid screens who's constantly ordering you around
adadochka (10:46:04 AM): I want players to make mistakes and die because they really don't want to kill x character and were hoping it would be the asshole technician to the end. I want there to be real dread when a creature spawns on the ship - it heralds doom. I don't wanno shoot 10 zomebies on my way to cashing in my credits for more lazer ammo. It feels too big game hunter.
EnjieXP (10:48:37 AM): yeah, when the game spawned like 10 zombies in my first 5 minutes in the game, I was already skeptical. I would rather, for much of the game, for you to fight one creature that just will not die constantly slipping out of your grasp and haunting you
adadochka (10:49:54 AM): Yes, omg, creatures that have killed your crewmates that you wound but they escape and constantly hunt you!!
